MOODBOARD

For this project we had to create an installation for ‘Story Telling though the Media’ -I focused heavily on the idea of ‘Barbie’ and body image. How barbie is used to show the typical body standards that every young person wants but they should be able to love there body whatever the size. My colour palette for this is Orchid Flower which is a rich pink colour and was a key forecast colour SS22

ILLUSTRATION

A strong interest of mine is drawing and showing a design I aim to make. This dress was inspired by the icon brand of Barbie, a slim figure dress with feathers coming off the garment. The pink colour is a must as Barbie is known for owning the colour pink. I decided to keep the layout of this page simple, and focused the board solely on my three illustrations.

FINAL GARMENT

On the right is the finished dress that I designed, made and modelled, I edited this image to look like it’s being worn by a real life barbie doll. I’ve drawn on the page my pattern piece that I made to create this dress. On the left is a portrait of a ‘botched’ human barbie to communicate that you don’t have to change to be perfect.

INSTALLATION DAY

This was my final display for my installation ‘Story Telling through the Media

As you can see, I made 6 foot tall Barbie Box, I made this box out of cardboard, to the specifications of the toy brand. I drew on the barbie font to show that it was a barbie box and I used a rich barbie pink colour to cover the full box with.

PAINTINGS

This work was a part of my installation about body image. A key way to get across a message is with keeping up trends and what people thinks, using the WGSN website I found the predicted colour trends for SS22. Two of these colours was ‘orchid flower’ which was a rich pink colour and ‘Atlantic blue’ that was a deep sea blue colour. I combined both of these colours into the paintings. I have included my art work into a conceptual room plan which incorporates my love of interior design.

MOODBOARD

A brief I had in college was to create an autumn inspired fashion piece that can be displayed or sold for the store lush. I started with research to see how lush works. Research is key when coming to briefs like this as you need to know about the brand before you plan to create something for them. As you can see, Lush is an ethical company with many beliefs.

ILLUSTRATION AND FINAL WORK

From the research I collected from Lush, I designed two garments- something that can be displayed and something that can be sold. The dress is halloween themed which would be for the window display to attract new customers into the store. The dress is made from all recycled fabrics to create something sustainable for them. The tote bag I’ve designed is made from organic cotton, customers would be able to purchase this bag in the store and it can be a bag for life.

PERSONAL WORK

I have recently started a small business that I hope to grow in the future, the business I’ve created is personal digital portrait logos for people with a business. These are a few digital drawings that I have done for people, they show creativity to someone as I am able to put whatever they like on it, for example the bottom left drawing was for a young girl who does eyelash extensions and hairdressing.

DECONSTRUCTION WORK

For this project, I up-cycled an old denim jacket. I wanted to recreate this jacket with recycled fabrics so that I was able to design a sustainable wearable denim jacket. The colour palettet of this page was very important to me as I needed a way to have the denim blue pop. With the strong mustard block behind the product and the duck egg blue strips, I was able to be successful with making the garment stand out.

ILLUSTRATION

These are a few digital illustrations I’ve created inspired by a roller rink. I included illustrations, and a fabric sample, inspiration, and a colour palette. These abstract illustrations could also be digitally made into moving images for a short reel, that way they would look more funky and cool which I think would work well.

FINAL GARMENT

On the left of the page is the final outcome of the garment i made inspired by a roller rink. I have my final made garment and, more inspiration images, and a few illustrations. On the right I have placed my pattern pieces that I used to make the garment and under them is a fabric sample of what the outfit is made from, to bring together my ideas and concept onto one board

INTERIOR DESIGN

On this project I focused heavily on the word ‘jungle’. I created a room space that would be suitable within a jungle environment, I was able to achieve my project by using a colour scheme related to my ideas and work, and different materials that would be adequate for my the jungle. I designed this room with a lot of wood/oak features to reference the materials found naturally in the jungle. I have added a unique feel to this space by using old jeep safari car seats instead regular chairs.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Here I gave myself my own personal project which was to create a room space inspired by a fashion designer, the designer I chose was Alexander McQueen. I started by doing in-depth research into some fashion shows that he has done in the past and I chose his spring/summer 2011 fashion show that was very fantasy like. I explored working with architectural sketches and digital floor plan to be able to create a more professional Interior Design board. I enjoyed creating this project for myself as I was free to design what I like and along the way I learned new skills such as digital floor plans

MOODBOARD

Research is key when creating a Moodboard for inspiration. Here I show the style of Cecilie Bahnsen through images and a range of words. On the left I’ve found images of floral flower patterns to remind myself of her floral free garments, I’ve shown a pallet of pastels colours and also included images of her work in the top right

ILLUSTRATION

I have created my own fashion illustration inspired by Bahnsen. Cecile Bahnsen uses pastel colours within her garments, so I decided to be a deep royal blue to add a different style. Within this board, I have used my illustrations skills to create a flowing dress however, I’ve included some hand sewing into it to build different textures onto the illustration, and create a tactile finish.
